Dingxi Potato Institute was established in June 1998 as the first private enterprise in Gansu Province dedicated to potato research and seed potato production.
定西马铃薯研究所成立于1998年6月，是甘肃省第一家民营马铃薯研究及马铃薯种薯生产企业。
Dingxi Potato Research Institute was the first institution to introduce and promote virus-free seed potato production technology in Dingxi. For over 20 years, it has been engaged in the research, production, and sales of virus-free pre-elite seeds, elite seeds, and commercial potatoes. Currently, it possesses facilities for potato research, experimentation, and production, including potato breeding, tissue culture, pre-elite seed production, and virus disease testing. The institute produces 60 million virus-free test-tube plantlets and nearly 100 million pre-elite seeds annually. It is authorized to produce more than 20 outstanding potato varieties from both domestic and international sources. Its pre-elite seed products are sold across major potato-producing regions in China, with approximately 10% exported annually to countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
定西马铃薯研究所是最早在定西引入推广脱毒种薯生产技术的单位。20多年来，一直从事马铃薯脱毒原原种，原种和商品薯的研究、生产与销售工作。目前拥有包括马铃薯育种、组培、原原种生产、病毒病害检测等马铃薯科研、试验、生产设施，年生产马铃薯脱毒试管苗6000万株、马铃薯原原种近1亿粒。得到授权生产的国内外的优秀马铃薯品种20多个，原原种产品销售遍及中国马铃薯主产区，每年约有10%出口到中东及东南亚的一些国家。
The Dingxi Potato Research Institute has been deeply engaged in the field of seed potato production for over 20 years, accumulating extensive production technology and expertise. In 2012, it participated as a major contributor in the formulation of national standards related to seed potato production. In 2017, the Xiangquan pre-elite seed production base of the Dingxi Potato Research Institute was designated as a National Demonstration Zone for Standardized Production of Virus-Free Pre-Elite Seeds and an Export Production Base for Chinese Pre-Elite Seeds. In 2019, it was awarded the title of New-Type Research and Development Institution by the Gansu Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
定西马铃薯研究所在马铃薯种薯生产领域已经深耕20多年，积累了深厚的生产技术经验，2012年以主要参编成员参与了马铃薯种薯生产的相关国家标准的制定。2017年定西马铃薯研究所香泉原原种生产基地获批为国家马铃薯脱毒原原种标准化生产示范区，中国马铃薯原原种出口生产基地，2019年被甘肃省科技厅授予甘肃省新型研发机构称号。
Adhering to the development path led by science and technology, the Dingxi Potato Research Institute continuously enhances its own technological capabilities while actively establishing and expanding collaborations with potato research institutions and universities both domestically and internationally to introduce scientific and technological achievements. Institutions such as China Agricultural University, Gansu Agricultural University, Inner Mongolia University, and the Gansu Electric Power Research Institute have successively established joint postgraduate training bases at the Dingxi Potato Research Institute.
定西马铃薯研究所秉承科技引领的发展路线，在不断发展自身科技水平的同时，积极建立、拓展与国内外马铃薯研究机构及高校的合作领域，引入科技成果。中国农业大学、甘肃农业大学、内蒙古大学、甘肃电力科学研究院等科研院所先后在定西马铃薯研究所建立在研究生联合培训基地。
Dingxi Potato Research Institute currently holds 5 potato varieties with independent intellectual property rights, 2 invention patents, and 4 scientific and technological achievements. In 2024, the Institute established the Dingxi Potato Research Institute Testing Center, procured relevant instruments and equipment, trained personnel, and is currently in the process of CNAS accreditation. The Testing Center will undertake the task of monitoring and detecting viral diseases throughout the entire production process of the Dingxi Potato Research Institute. In 2025, the Integration and Application of Key Technologies for Improving Quality and Efficiency of the Potato Industry was awarded the Second Prize of the Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
定西马铃薯研究所现有自主知识产权马铃薯品种5个，发明专利2项，科技成果4项， 2024年成立定西马铃薯研究所检测中心，购置相关仪器设备，培训人员，正在CNAS认证中。检测中心将承担定西马铃薯研究所生产全过程的病毒病害监测检测任务。2025年马铃薯产业提质增效关键技术集成与应用获得甘肃省科技进步二等奖。
The Dingxi Potato Research Institute has established seed potato and commercial potato production bases in the Hexi Corridor of Gansu Province, Lanzhou New Area, Dingxi, and other locations. It supplies commercial potatoes for processing to numerous large-scale potato processing enterprises across China, with the entire production process fully mechanized. The institute has maintained long-term and stable cooperative relationships with major potato processing companies such as Simplot, PepsiCo Foods, and Lamb Weston.
定西马铃薯研究所在甘肃省河西地区、兰州新区、定西等地建有马铃薯种薯及商品薯生产基地，为国内多家大型马铃薯加工企业生产加工用商品薯，生产过程全程实行了机械化作业，长期与辛普劳、百事食品、蓝威斯顿等马铃薯加工企业建立了稳定的合作关系。
